CodeNodex FAQ: what it is, how it differs from official APIs, supported models and tools, pricing, integration, reliability, refunds, and support.
What is CodeNodex?
CodeNodex is an AI API gateway. Switch to our base_url to call frontier models such as GPT and Claude directly from mainland China through supported OpenAI-compatible endpoints.
How is it different from the official OpenAI / Claude API?
Three main points: ① direct mainland-China access, no proxy or foreign credit card needed; ② one API key for GPT, Claude and more — no separate sign-ups or payments; ③ pay-as-you-go with lower prices, OpenAI-compatible so you migrate by changing base_url.
Which models and tools are supported?
Models include GPT, Claude and other supported frontier LLMs (see the Channels page for the current list). Tools include Codex CLI, Claude Code, Cursor, Cline, OpenCode and compatible OpenAI/Anthropic clients, with setup guides provided.
How does billing work? Do I need a subscription?
Usage is billed per token. Start a trial with just ¥1 CNY; the balance is deducted as you go — no long-term plan required. Usage and cost details are visible anytime in the console.
How much code do I need to change to integrate?
Because we are fully OpenAI-compatible, in most cases you only swap the base_url and API key. We provide step-by-step guides for Codex CLI, Claude Code, Cursor and more.
Is the service reliable?
We use multi-channel load balancing with automatic failover, and expose live channel status and uptime on the Channels page for full transparency.
Is my balance safe? What is the refund policy?
Your balance is used for API usage, with detailed records available anytime. Refund terms are in our Terms of Service; you can request a refund from the Orders page and our team will handle it.
How do I get support?
